This is our popular follow up to Jen's drop spindle class.
Now you've got the basics down - what do you do with spun singles? In this technical workshop, Jen will cover:
How to make a 2ply and 3ply yarn with your spun singles on a drop spindle
How to make and use your own lazy kate to hold your bobbins
How to wash, set and finish your skein
How to use a niddy noddy to skein up and measure the length of your yarn
How to use a Wraps Per Inch (WPI tool) to work out the weight of your yarn
Alternative plying techniques - chain plying and Andean plying on a drop spindle
Tips and tricks for recording and keeping track of your handspun and why it's helpful
Being a more theoretical and technical, this workshop is a mix of practical, talk and demonstration, and done in a smaller group setting.
Basically, it's everything you need to know to make your yarn!
