The first concert I took Kayla-May to was a P!nk concert and it felt like I was imparting some sort of motherly wisdom. Like her or loathe her there is no denying that the singer songwriter is an icon. I have been an avid fan of hers since my teenage years, but since having my children her music seems to hit deeper - the female empowerment undertones of her lyrics hit deep. The song 'Perfect' is Kayla-Mays and I's song, we sing it at the top of our lungs in the car when no-ones listening - the line 'you're perfect to me' hits this momma in the feels. I hope my children live their childhood (and life) knowing that to me they will always be forever perfect and never change who they are to suit anyone.
